Day 1. Arrival in Addis<\/strong><\/p>

You will be welcomed by your guide\/a member of Magma Flow Team at Bole International airport Addis and transfer to your hotel. If arrival time is in the morning, after check-in your hotel and quick refreshment, you will have Addis city tour.<\/p>

Day 2. Addis – Mekelle – Danakil Depression<\/strong><\/p>

– Fly from Addis to Mekelle.<\/p>

– Pick up from Mekelle airport and drive to the Northern part of the Danakil Depression (Dallol area).<\/p>

– Visit:<\/p>

  • Camel caravans heading back from the salt mining area to HamadEla & highlands (if available)<\/li>
  • Sunset on Lake Asale\/Karum.<\/li><\/ul>

    Overnight outside under the stars in HamadEla\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    Day 3. Danakil Depression (HamadEla – Dallol – Abala)<\/strong><\/p>

    – In the morning, visit:<\/p>

    • Dallol Volcano<\/li>
    • Salt Mountains (Canyons)<\/li>
    • Sulfur Lake (Yellow Ponds)<\/li>
    • Camel Caravans & Local Salt Mining (if available)<\/li><\/ul>

      – Afterwards, drive to Abala.<\/p>

      Overnight in a local guest house in Abala town\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      Day 4. Danakil Depression (Abala – Erta Ale)<\/strong><\/p>

      – Drive to the Southern part of the Danakil Depression (Erta Ale area) in route, meet local people in Kesrawad (a village in a middle of unexpected remote area).<\/p>

      – TREK (30-40min) to the top of the Erta Ale Mountain.<\/p>

      – Visit Erta Ale Volcano (Lava Lake) during the night.<\/p>

      Overnight outside\/inside local huts made up of lava rocks near to the rim.<\/strong><\/p>

      Day 5. Danakil Depression (Erta Ale – Afdera) – Semera<\/strong><\/p>

      – 2nd visit of the Erta Ale Volcano during the sunrise (if interested).<\/p>

      – Trek (30-40min) back, meet cars and drive to Afdera.<\/p>

      – Swim in Lake Afrera & take a bath in hydrothermal springs (if interested).<\/p>

      – Proceed driving to Semera<\/p>

      Overnight hotel in Semera<\/strong><\/p>

      Day 6. Semera – Awash<\/strong><\/p>

      – Drive to Awash.<\/p>

      – Check-in hotel\/lodge and relax.<\/p>

      – Afternoon, start gamedrive through park to see different wildlife species (Oryx, Kudus, Dik-Dik, Baboons…) in route, taking several stops on best spots where we can see and admire the spectacular views of the rift valley & waterfall (if not dried) from.<\/p>

      Day 7. Awash – Harar<\/strong><\/p>

      – Drive to Harar.<\/p>

      – Visit:<\/p>

      • The House of Rimbaud<\/li>

      • Ras Mekonnen\u2019s Palace<\/li>
      • The Harari National Cultural Center<\/li>
      • The tomb of Emir Nur, who built the famous Jugol (The City Wall)<\/li>
      • A man feeding Hyenas.<\/li><\/ul>

        Overnight hotel in Harar<\/strong><\/p>

        Day 8. Harar – Dire Dawa – Addis<\/strong><\/p>

        – In the morning, visit:<\/p>

        • Colorful Muslim & Christian markets<\/li>
        • If any unvisited sites from Yesterday<\/li><\/ul>

          – Drive to Dire Dawa in route, visit:<\/p>

          • The old Train station<\/li>
          • Aweday Khat market<\/li><\/ul>

            – Transfer to Dire Dawa airport to catch your flight back to Addis.<\/p>
