Day 1. Mekelle – Danakil Depression (Erta Ale)<\/strong><\/p>

– Tour departs from MFT (Magma Flow Tours) office at 10am.<\/p>

– Pick up from airport\/hotel\/any place in Mekelle and drive to the Southern part of the Danakil Depression (Erta Ale area) in route, meet local people in Kesrawad (a village in a middle of unexpected remote area).<\/p>

– TREK (30-40min – you can hire a Camel for ride, if interested) the top of the Erta Ale Mountain.<\/p>

– Visit Erta Ale Volcano (Lava Lake) during the night.<\/p>

Meal plan: Lunch, Snack & Dinner<\/strong><\/p>

Overnight: Outside\/inside local huts near to the rim<\/strong><\/p>

Day 2. Danakil Depression (Erta Ale – Afdera – Lake Asale\/Karum – HamadEla)<\/strong><\/p>

– 2nd visit of the Erta Ale Volcano during the sunrise (if interested).<\/p>

– Trek (30-40min) back, meet cars and drive to the Northern part of the Danakil Depression (Dallol area). In route, drive to Afdera to Swim in Lake Afrera & take a bath in hydrothermal springs (if time permits).<\/p>

– Visit:<\/p>

  • Camel caravans heading back from the salt mining area to HamadEla & highlands (if available)<\/li>
  • Sunset on Lake Asale\/Karum.<\/li><\/ul>

    Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Snack & Dinner<\/strong><\/p>

    Overnight: Outside under the stars in HamadEla\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

    Day 3. Danakil Depression (Dallol) – Hawzen<\/strong><\/p>

    – In the morning, visit:<\/p>

    • Dallol Volcano<\/li>
    • Salt Mountains (Canyons)<\/li>
    • Sulfur Lake<\/li>
    • Camel Caravans & Local Salt Mining (if available)<\/li><\/ul>

      – After visit, drive to Hawzen.<\/p>

      Meal plan: Breakfast & Lunch<\/strong><\/p>

      Overnight: Vision hotel Hawzen<\/strong><\/p>

      Day 4. Hawzen – Gheralta – Hawzen<\/strong><\/p>

      – Morning, drive to Gheralta and visit Abune Yemata Guh which requires a challenging 2h trekking and climbing.<\/p>

      – After visit, return to your hotel and relax.<\/p>

      – Afternoon, drive to an area where you will enjoy by an amazing views of the chained Mountains of Guh and Korkor during the sunset.<\/p>

      – Afterwards, return to Hawzen.<\/p>

      – Morning, drive to Gheralta and visit Maryam & Daniel Korkor which requires a challenging 2.5h trekking.<\/p>

      – After visit, drive to Axum. On the way, visit the ruins of Yeha Temple.<\/p>
